Service, cancellation and refund terms

Effective October 5, 2026

This is not an emergency or veterinary medical service. For breathing difficulty, collapse, seizure, poisoning, uncontrolled bleeding, severe pain, major trauma, or another possible emergency, contact an emergency veterinarian immediately.

Eligibility and agreement

The service is intended for adults age 18 or older. By submitting the form, the person confirms that the information is theirs to share and agrees to these terms and the privacy notice.

Educational scope

The operator is a veterinary assistant, not a licensed veterinarian. The service provides general educational information only. It does not examine a dog or cat, diagnose, prescribe, recommend medication or doses, provide an individualized treatment plan, interpret diagnostic results, guarantee an outcome, or establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship. A client should contact a licensed veterinarian for medical concerns.

Service selection and payment

The client chooses a paid service or Free Community Support and sees the price before submitting. Free Community Support requires no payment and no explanation. Submitting a paid question does not charge the client. The operator first reviews the question and confirms availability. Only after approval does PayPal or Apple Pay become available in the private conversation. Declined questions are not charged. No recurring charge is created. The operator may decline or refund a request that is outside the service scope or capacity and direct the client to a licensed veterinarian.

Communication policy

Clients must communicate respectfully. Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, sexually inappropriate, or repeatedly hostile messages may be rejected. Severe threats or harassment may result in access being restricted. Strong language used to describe a situation is not automatically a violation; enforcement focuses on language directed at another person or clearly abusive conduct.

Timing and availability

Any response estimate begins after required details and scheduling are complete, and after payment for paid options. Estimates are not guaranteed and must never be relied on for urgent or emergency concerns. The operator may decline a request that is outside scope or capacity.

Cancellation

A client may cancel before the response work or scheduled conversation begins. If payment was completed and work has not begun, the operator will issue a refund through the original payment provider.

Refund review

If a paid response does not address the agreed educational question or the operator cannot provide the agreed service, the client may request a refund review. Approved refunds are returned through the original payment provider. Provider processing times are outside the operator’s control. These terms do not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.

Files and communications

Clients may upload up to four files of any type at 10 MB each. They must have permission to share those files and must not submit unlawful content, malware, passwords, financial credentials, Social Security numbers, unrelated human medical records, or unrelated private information. Unfamiliar file types may be downloaded instead of opened. Ordinary email and SMS may not be encrypted end to end.

Privacy

Personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Notice. Privacy requests may be sent to info@bayareaapps.com.

Changes

These terms may be updated for future requests. The version in effect when a request is submitted applies to that request unless the parties agree otherwise.

Private written replies

New written services use your private conversation page instead of SMS or email. Save its link and return to check responses. There are no automatic email or SMS notifications. Phone Support includes a separate arranged call; the private page can be used to coordinate it. Never use this conversation for emergencies.
